Heritage Volunteering
Preserving heritage for future generations is one of the greatest gifts to posterity. The Arts Society is one of the largest providers of aid to museums, galleries, archives and libraries around the country. Our volunteers are trained by accredited Conservators and other specialists to ensure they can perform their role correctly. In a sector that is under increasing financial pressure, heritage institutions rely heavily on volunteers to carry out tasks that otherwise would be left undone – to the detriment of irreplaceable items.
Our Volunteers are involved in a range of conservation projects in the area, with interesting history and heritage aspects. Below you find information relating to the work done by our stitchers, our diarists and our cataloguers.
