The Anglican Cathedral Church of Christ is Britain’s biggest Cathedral, taking 74 years to build from the foundation stone being laid in 1904. It is a Grade 1 listed building designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and built in the Gothic Revival style.

The Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral of Christ the King is the seat of the Archbishop of Liverpool and the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. It is a Grade 11 listed building, recognisable by its pinnacle crowned stained glass lantern tower. The Cathedral was consecrated in 1967
